Greetings Parents! River Rouge High School needs your participation in completing a Parent Survey for the 2018-19 school year. We use this information to assist us in making informed decisions based off of student, parent, and staff feedback as we begin our planning for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year.
We would appreciate your feedback and thank you in advance.
Hello High School Panther Families,
We welcome our scholars back to school today from their break and look forward to everyone being refreshed and ready to learn!
There are several upcoming events and dates that we want all of our families to be updated on . . .
This week, February 25-29, we have several exciting things happening at the high school:
Tuesday, 2-26-19 - The University of Michigan Wolverine Express will be in the building to give presentations in classrooms. Students will be engaged in wonderful activities throughout the day.
Thursday, 2-28-19 is a half day for students. We invite all of our families to attend the African American Extravaganza from 12-3pm at the high school.
Tutoring continues on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
Thursday, March 7 is a half day for students for PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES. Conferences will be held 12-3pm and 4-6pm.
Due to the inclement weather the School District of the City of River Rouge will be closed on Tuesday, February 12, 2019.
Please stay safe.
Dear High School Panther Families:
River Rouge High School will facilitate an After-School Tutoring and Credit Recovery Program in order to provide our scholars with additional academic resources after the traditional school day. The programs will be offered Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:15-5:15pm. The scholars can receive a snack immediately after school and report to tutoring no later than 3:30pm.
Collaboratively with the scholar, teacher, tutor, parent and administration, support will be provided in order to improve skills in math, science, English, and social studies. It is imperative that we have the support of the scholar and parent in order to make this tutoring productive. Scholars are expected to be timely, in attendance regularly, behave appropriately, and participate. Teachers are making recommendations based on scholars who need additional support and are not passing core classes. Counselors will assess and notify students for credit recovery. There is a fee associated with Credit Recovery but there is no fee for after-school tutoring.
Due to the weather and days off recently, the date has been adjusted. Please ensure that your scholar reports to the After-School Academic Programs, which begins on Monday, February 11, 2019. A late bus is offered for scholars who need transportation but must sign up for the bus which will leave at 5:30pm. Please contact the main office for more information or to fill out a bus form. We look forward to collaborating with you in order to continue to propel your scholar forward in his/her education at River Rouge High School.
