Welcome to 2021!

Hello Panther Scholars and Families!  Happy New Year and Welcome to 2021!  For many of us, the end of 2020 is a welcome event and we are looking forward to greater things in 2021.  As we review our year, I want to take time to acknowledge that our scholars and families have risen to the challenges and we have overcome.  As we prepare our return to school plan for our scholars, please keep in mind that safety is always at the forefront.  We realize that distance learning may not have been easy for some of us but please bear with us as we plan the best possible re-entry plan to school.

Classes will reconvene Monday, January 4, 2021, with our online distance learning format.  At this time, we are working diligently to plan and ensure that all safety measures are in place before our students re-enter the building; this takes time.  As we have further information in regards to our re-entry to in-person learning, we will share with you all.  It has always been our goal to have our students in-person but we are mindful and cautious of the safety measures required.  Please also be reminded that we will continue our Quarter 2, which concludes with the end of Semester 1 on January 29, 2021.

We appreciate your ongoing support and diligence throughout this online learning.  This pandemic has presented some challenges, but we have worked together to ensure that we are always stronger!

  • Two River Rouge students (Britney Rivers and Lord-Amani Cooper) were awarded with the Bill Gates Millenium Scholarship.
  • Our football team played in the state finals and were awarded distinction as Academic All-State.
  • This year saw the return of the River Rouge Theatre Ensemble, who produced two shows.
  • We successfully added Advanced Placement and Honors courses to our schedule.
  • The Culinary Arts program successfully opened the Taste of Rouge Cafe right inside of RRHS.
  • A partnership between River Rouge School District and Beaumont Health resulted in the River Rouge Teen Health Center, which serves all of our students' medical needs, as well as health awareness, prevention, and support.
